Google Cloud Rolls Out AI Security Add‑On to Guard Generative Models

Google Cloud announced a new AI Security add‑on that sits in front of generative AI services hosted on its platform. The service inspects every inbound request to a model, uses machine‑learning classifiers to spot adversarial prompts, data‑poisoning attempts, and other malicious input patterns, and can automatically quarantine or block suspicious traffic before it reaches the model.

For security teams this means an additional layer of defense against attacks that aim to corrupt model behavior or exfiltrate sensitive data via crafted queries. By integrating the add‑on with existing GCP IAM and logging controls, defenders can gain actionable alerts, enforce policy‑driven quarantines, and reduce the attack surface of their AI workloads without building custom detection pipelines. Early adoption is advised to stay ahead of threat actors targeting the rapid expansion of generative AI deployments.
