Cloudflare Deploys Account Abuse Protection to Thwart Credential Stuffing

Cloudflare has rolled out a new suite called Account Abuse Protection, which automatically identifies and blocks fraudulent login attempts, credential‑stuffing attacks, and other abusive behaviors targeting both automated bots and human users across its global network. The service leverages machine‑learning models, reputation data, and real‑time telemetry to intervene before malicious traffic reaches the victim’s authentication endpoints.

For defenders, the rollout means an additional layer of defense that can reduce the noise in security alerts and limit the exposure of compromised credentials. By integrating with existing Cloudflare configurations, organizations can offload much of the brute‑force mitigation to the edge, freeing up SOC resources to focus on higher‑tier threats while improving overall account security posture.
